In 1999 she launched her first UK cooking show, Nigella Bites. The show attracted millions of viewers and won her several accolades, including the Best Television Food Show at the World Food Media Awards in 2001. Nigella Lawsons numerous cookbooks and cooking shows have earned her the (often fraught). Lawson published her first, highly successful culinary guide How to Eat in 1998, and the following year began her television career with the cookery show Nigella Bites for Channel 4. In 1986, she became the deputy literary editor of the Sunday Times at the age of 26, and subsequently worked as a freelance journalist writing for the Daily Telegraph, the Evening Standard, the Times Literary Supplement and Vogue, amongst others. After graduating from Oxford, where she studied medieval and modern languages at Lady Margaret Hall, Lawson embarked on a career in journalism as a restaurant critic for the Spectator. ![]()
